Aspiring Candidates
The following are the bios of candidates running for the HOA Board in hopes to bring improvements and experience that will benefit The Hadaway:
Shannon Marie Ledlum
Hello my neighbors. I have lived in the Hadaway since April 2015. I love this neighborhood. I have two daughters, Chloe 10, who’s in 5th grade at Dyer and Caylee 8, who’s in 3rd grade at Dyer as well!
For the past 15 years, I’ve worked at Northside Gwinnett Hospital! I love helping my patients, hence my career in healthcare!
I WANT to help my neighborhood the same way I help my patients every day, listen to their needs, helping them reach their goals, and most importantly just plain listen to them!
Together, as a community we can help each other every day like we help our loved ones!
Josh Oros
I’m originally from Michigan and moved to our neighborhood in 2013. Like so many others, I moved to Gwinnett because of its excellent schools, career opportunities, and to offer my family better future opportunities. I know I made the right choice!
I’m running for this board position understanding that in life it takes dedication and effort to succeed in anything you set out to do.
If elected I will demonstrate the same dedication to our community that I have exhibited over the many projects and responsibilities I have tackled working in the technology and education fields for the last 20 years. I currently serve as the VP of Technology for a healthcare provider operating in 11 states.
I also come to you as someone who has owned homes in both HOA communities and communities without HOA’s. I see their benefits, and their challenges.
If elected to the board, my goals would be to partner with my fellow board members to make our neighborhood stronger, safer, and more connected.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
Melissa Canazon
My family is celebrating our 9th year in The Hadaway and couldn’t be more excited! Being involved with the community and encouraging our kids to be responsible community members is very important to our family.
Our kids have grown up here, with one still in Dyer and the other two at Mountain View taking AP level classes (and the oldest graduating this coming May!).
Being on the board of the HOA will allow me to work with the other board members and management association to improve the community by being an advocate for the HOA members (YOU!).
Having a Business Degree, and a dual master’s degree (in Information Technology and another in Information Security & Assurance). As a Lead Senior Security Automation Engineer, I can communicate with audiences with facts and information.
I will contribute innovative ideas and drive initiatives based on the community we strive to achieve. It is a responsibility to seek improvement, identify factors to shape a well-founded solution, and coordinate with others to accomplish a shared, well thought and planned initiative.
It’d be a great privilege to improve our community by being an active board member for the HOA and providing value to all the homeowners.
Chris Wessels
I am a 24-year resident of The Hadaway and I am interested is serving on the Hadaway Board. We are a public safety family; I recently retired from the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department and my wife serves in public safety as well. Upon retirement I changed careers to that of full time Dad for our three young children.
We are proud to call The Hadaway home and I am committed to doing my part to help keep the neighborhood safe, neighborly, and viable.
As such I feel compelled to increase my involvement within our community as a board member.
As a father of young children my primary concerns are pedestrian safety, ensuring the amenities meet the needs of our community, fiscal controls (keeping our annual fees as low as possible), and ensuring that interactions with the board and management group are always a positive experience.
I have volunteered to assist within the neighborhood when the opportunity arises to include assisting with the pool life safety equipment & signage upgrades and would ramp up my efforts as a board member.
Bob Higgins
I am originally from upstate New York. I was educated completely in parochial schools and received a BA in Communications from Fordham University in the Bronx, a borough of New York City. I have been married to my wife for just over 38 years. We have two adult children. I retired in 2017 from Cisco Systems, after 18 years, from my position as an engineer.
Prior to that, I worked in the Cable TV industry for 20 years as a Director of Technical Operations in New York, then New Jersey and finally Charlotte, North Carolina. My hobbies include computers, cars, and woodworking. My wife and I are parishioners of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville.
We moved into the Hadaway in June 1999, and we are the original owners of our home.
Over the past 23 years I have previously served on both the ACC and Social committees.
I would like to see the Hadaway once again be more than “just a place to live”.
I would commit to having community activities for our neighborhood families several times a year.
